Aug 12 mind your MARRIAGE

If it’s your first time reading… this year’s blog series for Chapter 34 is all about minding my BUSINESS (whatever pertains to me).

And I’m back and better than ever! Whew that retreat was everything I didn’t know I needed.

Install #6 is mind your MARRIAGE

Gonna get right to it… At the beginning of this year, it was rocky and I almost walked away from my marriage. Almost called it quits, I have never been so close to “the d word” being a reality… I was ready to walk away from the very thing I had prayed for, a desire of my heart. I had other plans, but so did God. His plans trumped mines and I’m forever grateful… God saves us from ourselves, He knows what’s best always!

God had other plans for us. For the longest we would fight one another and not the real enemy. Ya’ll that old devil don’t want to see the saints doing right, don’t want us happy, living our best lives in Christ. He wants us arguing, finding fault, looking else where, comparing and complaining.

Thank God for intervention and for a change of heart, for prayer, and marriage counseling — we came out and are continuing to work on our marriage.

Listen here, it got real and I was so lost, hurt, didn’t know what to do… I have watched so many other marriages crumble, families broken and I thought mines was next. My heart was so broken and scared of what our family would become. Sin creeps in, disobedience, revenge, unhappiness, unrealistic expectations, and most importantly the lack of GOD! GOD has to be in your marriage, HIS WORD should be in your household and the way you go about living your life.

I want to take time to pray for struggling marriages because I’ve been here and still getting through it… I know prayer changes things!

LORD GOD,

Thank you for the beauty of marriage. Thank you that you can do the impossible. Thank you for your restorative power. Today I lift up marriages that are almost at a breaking point, praying you come in and restore. Praying for supernatural healing through and through, heal broken hearts and emotional scars. Lord take away the taste of sin from those who have fallen short and stepped out of their marriage. Believing that you can cleanse hearts, minds and souls… praying for repentance and a complete turnaround that only you have the power to do. Praying wives will respect their husbands and husbands will love their wives. Praying they remain side-by-side as a team, a union mended together until death. Now Lord you get the glory out of their marriage, may they move on in unity, in your power, in love and in respect… last but certainly not least praying for the best SEX life ever, in Jesus name AMEN!

Married folks hold on tight, love and respect one another, fight the enemy and not each other, make sure God is all up and through your marriage.

Good night, now go do what grown “married” folks do!
